Guess what? I just got my Fab Fit Fun Summer Box! This is actually my first ever Fab Fit Fun box. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to order it for years!
I’ve done the subscription thing before with Ipsy, Boxycharm, and Sephora Play. What I came to realize is that I would much rather take the $10/$20, whatever it is, and buy something I actually want! I used to end up with so much stuff that I didn’t even use.
So why did I pull the trigger on Fab Fit Fun knowing what I know about other services? I did it because you can choose some of the items in your box. I feel like I am shopping for things I want and will use. It’s also not curated to be just beauty. You have options for style, home décor, fitness, etc., which I really love!
Why this season of Fab Fit Fun?
I was so close to ordering the Fall 2018 Box. The cool part of Fab Fit Fun is that when you see people on Instagram or YouTube unboxing their Fab Fit Fun, you can order the same exact box. That is not the case for other subscription services. You don’t get on their list until the next box. I saw that this season’s box had the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum cream and the matching shower gel! I cannot tell you how many times I’ve purchased the Bum Bum cream. And I absolutely had to try the shower gel.
The Sol de Janeiro set alone is worth $45, and I used a coupon code for my first box to get it for $40 (it’s normally $49). That’s obviously worth the price I paid for the whole box, which is why I finally ordered. It’s hard to spend $50 on things you may or may not like. From the last couple seasons I’ve seen unboxed, there is always something I love in them. I think that makes them worth it in the end.
What else did I get in my box?
Fab Fit Fun sends this little magazine with the box that gives you more information about the products and it includes their prices.
Next thing I picked was the 5 Rose Gold Brightening Sheet Masks from 111Skin. I love a sheet mask! I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ll update you in a future post. Fab Fit Fun says the retail on this is $160. I definitely think the brands mark up some of the products. I’m not sure who would pay $160 for sheet masks. I mean maybe they’re the best masks on the planet. I’ll let you know if they’re “life-changing.”
Another item I received was the Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm. So far so good on this one. It’s one of those multi-purpose ointments that you can use like Vaseline. You can use it as a moisturizer for lips and dry skin. It can also be used for cuts, scrapes, and burns. And you can even use it on baby. Perfect to throw in my purse or baby bag! The retail on it is $30.
Four more items to go.
I know! How crazy is that?!
- Invisibobble Hair Ties: 6 of them (3 nude/3 clear)! Love these! Zero hair creasing. Retail: $16.
- Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask: Normal clay mask. I had a little burning when I put it on and I’m not terribly sensitive. Retail: $39.
- Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray: Good refreshing spray. I may put mine in the fridge for those extra hot Texas days! Retail: $26.
- Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask: You put it on, let it dry, and then go to bed. I was super concerned it was going to get everyone, but it truly dries down. I definitely think it works and it smells like coconut! Retail: $32.
I received a mystery item in my box as well. It was an orange vanilla hand cream. Another great item to put on your nightstand, in your car, or in your purse. Washing your hands all the time can make your hands less soft than you want them to be. I always care a hand cream wherever I go.
Least Favorite Item
Y’all I actually picked the Jennifer Zeuner Star Double Necklace. I’ve been really into dainty necklaces. Probably because anything chunky will surely be ripped from my neck by my sweet angel baby. She still touches the smaller necklaces, but is much gentler. This necklace is really cute, but it’s a little too gold for my taste. I love to mix and match metals, but this gold comes off quite yellow.
I think if you’re a golden tan color this would look amazing on you. For me, it’s just so-so. It retails for $50. Another item that I’m like “ok, Jan.” I probably would have paid $15 at Target for it. To be fair, I picked this one. Should have went for the wine tumblers. Dang it. Next time I’ll choose wiser.
Will I keep my subscription?
Definitely. I can’t wait for the Fall box. I told you last years looked amazing! Bet you this one is too.
The total worth of the box is $421.95 and I paid $40! Like I said, I don’t think those face masks are worth $160, but I do think I got my money’s worth even I paid the full $49 for the box. I’ll keep you guys updated on how I’m liking the products in the box and if I would ever purchase them on my own.
