I did something I thought I would never do! I bought ALL my summer dresses from Amazon! Ordering clothes from Amazon always feels like a roll of the dice, doesn’t it? I threw caution to the wind, read some reviews, and ordered 5 different dresses. Let’s talk about what worked, what didn’t, and what I plan to order in other colors.
Let’s start with my favorite dress I ordered. I knew I would love this dress. I love the print, the color, and the neckline. The empire waist and v-neck are super flattering Oh, did I mention, it has POCKETS! Pockets are everything in a dress!
The next dress I also really liked. The print was different in person that what I thought it was online, but I still like it. I thought it would be a deeper navy. It has a scoop neckline and also comes down to right above my knee. This one also gathers under the bust giving it a beautiful A-line shape. And this one also has…POCKETS! Yes, I’m obsessed. I don’t always love bringing in a purse or a baby bag when I just need to run into a store really quick. This one also comes in other colors. I might have to order another color/print if I find one that I like. This one came to $18.99!
Alright, now I’m 3 for 3. I loved this one too! I know you’re thinking “there’s no way that would happen to mean if I ordered 5 random dresses from Amazon.” Girl, I thought the same thing.
This one I ordered in black, but it does come in other colors. It has a really cute vintage-vibe that I loved. It has these wooden-like button details that go down the front of the dress. The best part? They’re faux buttons. Yes, that means “the girls” won’t be playing peek-a-boo when you least expect it. It also has flutter sleeves that make for a cute and flirty detail. This one I found to be a little longer hitting right about the knee. This one is so unique I don’t think I would order it in another color. This dress was $25.99.
The next dress was a bit of a dud. Somewhat my fault though. It’s a maxi dress. I ordered a size up since it was a long dress. Like I said earlier, it’s really difficult to find dresses long enough and maxi dresses tend to be the hardest. I don’t need it to drag the ground, but I certainly don’t need it at my ankles. That is not a cute length for me. I look like I belong on “Little House on the Prairie,” trust me.
Turns out that a size up made it way too big in the waist. And then there is the print I picked, which was white with a floral pattern. It turned out to be see through. Whomp, whomp! I know that I could probably wear a slip underneath, but I’m going for easy and casual here and a slip doesn’t fit the bill. I’m not going to be exchanging it for a smaller size. This one barely hit the floor. I know the next size down will be too short. Oh well.
If you’re on the shorter side, I’d still recommend it in a darker color. I paid $22.99 for this one.
The final dress is an A-Line style with…you guessed it…pockets! This print is so much fun! It came in a ton of colors as well. This one comes right above the knee. I think this dress is just so easy. Just throw it on with some sandals and out the door you go! I thought it was true to size, but it is meant to be a little bit free flowing. So yes, I’m keeping this one too! Hurry! This one is on sale for $20.99!
I am a little bit shocked! I went 4 for 5 on these Amazon dresses! It was such an easy process I just searched for “summer dresses” to find all these and made sure the prime button was selected. All but one came super-fast. The last one I told you guys about came in about a week. The best way to order clothes online is to look at the reviews. I also like to check out the “fit” button to see what other shoppers thought of the sizing. This way I could choose to order my standard size, a size down, or a size up. All in all, I will definitely be looking to purchase more clothing from Amazon in the future.
